Those living in Korea will be familiar with this phrase – a refrain chanted in makkeoli shacks and hofs alike. It means “bottoms up” or “down it”, and is usually followed by a table full of patrons emptying their 50 ml shots of soju.
I thought the phrase would serve as an apt title for a new section on the blog, which will feature photos, links and brief musings on life in Korea. Each shot will offer a dose of pop culture in Korea, a comment on current affairs, or an observation from the eyes of an expat.
I like this idea a lot. 🙂
Thanks Sally!
