On the first day, Korea said to me

I found these words just hours after arriving in Incheon. The air outside was a piercing -5 degrees and Lazy Bird Guesthouse was a literally warm welcome to South Korea.

In perfect Konglish, the cover of this photo album said: “When one door of happiness closes, another opens”.

Considering I had not left South Africa because I was unhappy there – on the contrary I was getting too comfortable – this seemed more than appropriate, and tremendously reassuring.
